Our advocacy is driven by First Nations knowledge and wisdom
The Spinifex Foundation SA is committed to being action-oriented and evolutionary. By identifying key priorities and opportunities through deep engagement with First Nations Communities, we aim to support positive change.
The Spinifex Foundation is able to advocate in several key ways:
Utilising the Foundation itself: for broader advocacy, reflecting its action-oriented and evolutionary principles.
Community-driven priorities: informed and driven by deep engagement and active listening with First Nations communities across South Australia.
Building a community-led platform: from which to strengthen approaches genuinely rooted in First Nations wisdom and culture.
Addressing systemic issues and supporting programs: to deliver tangible outcomes directly to Communities.

By investing in robust community engagement and developing a funding model that is created by and for the Community, we have built a mechanism that allows for other stakeholders and philanthropic bodies to engage and contribute. This Community-led model provides a powerful platform from which to advocate for approaches that are genuinely driven by the wisdom embedded in First Nations communities and culture.

Our advocacy efforts are intrinsically linked to the priorities surfaced by Community members themselves. Whether supporting preventative programs, influencing education systems, or addressing systemic issues highlighted by Community, our commitment to being action-oriented means we always strive to deliver for First Nations Communities of South Australia.
