Current Grants

Welcome to the Grants section, where you can find information on current grant opportunities available through the Spinifex Foundation SA.
As a First Nations-led philanthropic foundation, our approach is deeply rooted in and driven by the Communities we serve. We are committed to ensuring that funding priorities, processes, and decisions are informed by and for the benefit of all First Nations people in South Australia.

Our grant-making aims to support initiatives that are directly responsive to emergent community health and wellbeing needs, as identified through our Community engagement processes. This section highlights opportunities that embody our core guiding principles: Culture First; For Community, By Community; Action Orientated & Evolutionary; Builds On, Develops, & Transfers Capability.

One example of our focus is the recently concluded 2025 Story of Place grant round. These grants are intended to provide an opportunity for communities, particularly those who may face challenges accessing funding, to tell a story in their own way about their place. They facilitate communities coming together to connect, share knowledge and culture, and build a new community-led narrative.
The 2025 grant rounds for Story of Place was announced in June, but we encourage you to get in touch to discuss future project ideas.
